Here are some basic tools that will help you grow in your relationship with Christ!
Andrew Murray (1828-1917) wrote this classic on prayer nearly a century ago, yet his insights are relevant today. God has greatly blessed this book in leading believers into a deeper, more effective prayer life. Find out why his writings have stood the test of time. You can either read it for free, or listen to a modern speaker's recording (from Librivox.org).
God raised up George Mueller (1805-1898) in order to illustrate to the church and the world that He still hears and answers prayer. His childlike faith has been the spark for thousands of believers, including some of the greatest workers in the history of Christianity. He raised up orphan homes and cared for the bodies and souls of more than 10,000 orphans, yet never made his needs known to people, only God, who he trusted for everything. Hudson Taylor, founder of China Inland Mission read Mueller's story and founded the China Inland Mission according to the same principles of faith.
E.M. Bounds (1835-1913) left a legacy of stirring truths about prayer. The foreward to Essentials of Prayer says, "Truly he was a burning and a shining light, and as The Sunday School Times says, “he was a specialist in prayer and his books are for the quiet hour, for careful meditation and for all who wish to seek and find the treasures of God.” It was my great privilege to know the author well, and also to know that his intention, in everything he wrote, was for the salvation of his readers. The Essentials of Prayer is sent forth in this spirit. May God bless it to many hearts and use it for the upbuilding and strengthening of Christian character through the length and breadth of the land. Homer W. Hodge Flushing, N.Y."
House of Prayer
by Pastor Jim Cymbala of the Brooklyn Tabernacle
God has blessed this message in reviving church members to pray. Jim makes a strong case for the centrality of prayer in the life of the church, proving that every revival has been born by prayer and sustained by prayer. Many people have watched this video several times, without becoming weary of the invitation to come boldly to the throne of grace.
